The Blauwburgwal (literally: Dutch: blue fortress wall) is a canal in Amsterdam between the Singel (at Lijnbaanssteeg) and the Herengracht (at Herenstraat). It is the shortest canal in the city center and part of the west Grachtengordel (canal belt). Halfway along the northeast side, the Langestraat meets the Blauwburgwal.

The Blauwbrug (English: Blue bridge) is a historic bridge in Amsterdam, Netherlands over the river Amstel. It connects the Rembrandtplein area with the Waterlooplein area, and lies south to the Stopera. The bridge owes its name to a wooden "blue bridge" that was there from around 1600 but no longer exists and which was painted the characteristic blue of the Dutch flag. It kept the name after.

Toen bij de uitleg een nieuwe Lijnbaansgracht ontstond, werd de naam veranderd in Blauwburgwal naar de Blauwe Brug, thans Lijnbaansbrug (over het Singel) geheten. Op 11 mei 1940 werd een deel van de Blauwburgwal (hoek Herengracht) door een Duits bombardement verwoest. Hierbij werden veertien panden verwoest en vielen 44 doden en 79 gewonden.
